For building up a city..u need big amount of cash......so I suggest to make market quick

I think building black markets at the very beginning can be very helpful especially when you have many slots available and generals with high ranks (of course you can always de-rank them lol)
The rate of return of black market is higher than normal markets within a 8-10 month period. There is no punishment to remove them and they will be bulldozed automatically at the end of the year anyways.
The fixed return of a black market is 80*(12-x)-50, where x is the month you built it. [Jan=1, Mar=3, Jul=7 etc]
Upgrading markets take an even longer time to return. So I suggest to first build up some defences such as the barracks and blacksmith before you start upgrading markets.
As for the armies, I would choose the one that is most suitable for the landscape: Halbreds and Spears are good in forest areas; Bowmen are best in narrow areas; Cavalries are best in open areas.
I also found that food is a very useful tool to generate immediate cash. Just sell them at the beginning when you are defending =) Keeping the same amount of food as your number of troops is enough for defending with good to decent commanders. (Make good use of the 1-soldier tactic)

Black Market can support the economy for some weaker powers.(For example: A.D.200 Cheung Zhou) With only 3 loyalists in the power and Cheung Zhou and Jia You are busy with more loyalists. Wu Che Yi(Political Ability =2) can build black market to support economy(Since he builds anything slowly that the time required for him to complete a economial support is 100 days. Using black markets allow him to build more within a shorter period.

Black market can help u not only beginning of the year.....
For some castle which with a poor situtation in geographical(u have to pack up everything and leave anytime....or u cannot ensure ur economic building safe)Build black market,leave nothing to ur enemies~ twisted.gif


I was saying...fullfill the empty space in ur land....finally upgrade. (if build smith and barrack after full graded Farn and market......the CPU should overwhelm us already.....)

For army parts.....
I think spear and Halberd is the basic.....since spear can stun enemy when Halberd can attack multi target the same time. Also....they are balance and good defensive ability.Other strength of them is....u only need to build smith.
Second choice is bow......however,u need some """shield"" to work with.
Cavalries is expensive and not so effective when in small size.....And u need to build a Stable 1st......it do quite much restrict in planning if u build so quick..... that's why I suggest put it the last.

Some cities labelled as"horse city" generate horse every month.....about 8000 horse shall be made in a year......8000 cavalries provide u a good supporting to ur footman in war already~

Lv4 upgraded cavalry make ur calvalry can fire arrow ........in any landscape(Bowman can not shoot in forest without®g¤â )
Cavalry can work well in forest then~
