The HKSAN saga Part I, 周瑜軍師創世紀- (軍師紀) 四國紀 白木紀

It was the year 2001, just one year into the second millennium. After scares of the world ending, in a far corner of the world, a place called HK, saw the creation of the first HKSAN forum. It's creator, was the famous and still remembered: 周瑜軍師(Zhou Yu). This was soon after the money sucking Koei released 三國志八. The forum, in its infancy, was focused on the game itself which was of a different format in the 三國志 series. It was a peaceful time when discussion was active, and the community itself was one of the most vibrant.

The peace lasted only for a brief time, until the arrival of ebs. The former member and leader 關雲長(wen chang) introduced the ebs to HKSAN. It was also during this time when 四國傳說(4K) was also created. At first it caused a big stir. The ebs was extremely popular and almost all members joined in to that particular site, again forming a small group and at the same time spreading the name of HKSAN.

The Ebs itself can now be seen as a double edged sword. On one hand it attracted lots of attention, and created endless dicussion threads. It created a sense of 'unity' and belonging. At that particular time, 關雲長 was accepted if not seen as the outspoken leader he was. However, power corrupts, even in virtual reality. It was not long after HKSAN got swept into the whirlwind of ebs, when the number of members in the HKSAN faction dramatically increased. Making up perhaps more than 30% of the members in the ebs community. The authority of the site no doubt felt threatened by this faction. Hence a certain measure was taken against HKSAN. Feeling hard done members of HKSAN protested against the unjust and discrimination against them. However, any chance of a dialogue was lost when the answer was '(Today's KFC)I like it like that!' Frustrated, angry and feeling hard done, the HKSAN members decided to leave and discuss a further plan of action.

''We want revenge! We deserve justice! Let's get those guys know that HKSAN will not be messed with! Let them feel the fury of HKSAN'' 雲長 raged. In the HQ of HKSAN, an 'emergency' meeting was called to rectify the situation of ebs. At that time, most on the board of HKSAN shared a similar feeling, and hence as a result nobody protested even if they felt Wen Chang was taking this to an extreme. Deciding that action was to be taken, a ploy called 'bank of hell' as the final gestuure of defiance. Led by the trio of yuen ji, ABC and wolf, they negoiated into the infrastructure, and core of the ebs. Knowing that they were going to leave that felt a slight guilty pleasure of watching what would happen.

Meanwhile Wen Chang was 'waging war' against other factions of the ebs and probably won that round. However it was also the last that they would be in. In fact the HKSAN faction was dissolved soon afterwards.

I still remember the time when me and Mr. 紀 were posting as much as we can on the guest book of the site to reach the title "至尊版友". That was the fun time before the forum turned formal.

Honestly, I am somewhat irritated about the seriousness and sophistication of this forum. I feel that I know too little even to participate in any discussion. Though I have to say I have learned a lot from the richess discussions in the forum. Just some thoughts I have about this board. Thank you.
