[Video]Discussion about the developing China, TVO "The Agenda" April 28

(I'm using English because you need some English comprehension skills to watch this video, it's a good way to practice it too.)

Worth watching if you're interested in this topic. I post this because it's not easy to find an unbiased and insightful TV discussion about the politics and economics of China these days, especially on the western media. It's even more uncommon to see someone as optimistic as Kishore Mahbubani talking about China's future. In my opinion he went a bit overly optimistic and overlooked some of China's current challenges, probably because of the fact that these issues has already been overstated in the west, and he wanted to balance it out. Anyway, I sure hope his predictions on China turned out to be true, because it could if we do things right.

片段需時去load，pause完play了不久又要再load，然後pause得太久它整個又會重新reload，斷斷續續看了開頭的1/3，用了個多小時才看到1/3，我放棄了... 如果可以整段下載會更好

頭1/3有兩點是我比較留意的。
第一點是modernization不等於westernization。這個我很同意，現代化不等於西化，每個國家都有不同的文化，現代化的過程也不一樣，西方社會卻總是把她們那套看成現代化的唯一模式。同樣地不同的國家，也應該在吸收西方社會優點的同時尋找屬於自己的現代化過程。

另一點是說中國和印度的經濟崛起，我忘了片段中的用字。大概意思是說中國和印度的經濟不是在「崛起」，而是重新回到她們應有的水平。這一點也可以從我上載的圖片看到，歷史上有一段很長的時間，中國和印度在Global GDP上佔有很大的比重。（圖片是我從我International Economic History的Lecture Notes拷過來的）

嗯，我估計是預測。
當時講師沒有詳細講圖片2000-2050的那一部份，他主要是想帶出中國和印度以前在World GDP佔有很大的比重和"Rise of China and India is not a new global
phenomenon"，我那一課主題是Globalisation。
