It was an adaptation of a novel Er Nu Ying Xiong Chuan by Wen Kang,
Qing Dynasty.
Master An was sent into jail for offending some powerful officials. His son An Ji then sold all the valuables at home and brought the money to Beijing to save his father's life with an old servant. On their way An discovered that they had been followed by a mysterious girl in red, making him extremely nervous. The girl was called "Shi San Mei" (the thirteenth sister) who had excellent martial arts skills. She knew that someone would like to kill An for his money and therefore tried to protect him in secret. |

One day after An and his servant had checked in at an inn, he asked the
inn-keeper to put a heavy stone of hundreds of kilos at his room door so
that no one could get in and steal. But no one at the inn was strong enough
to do so. Then Shi offered to help with no difficulty at all. An was astonished.
Seeing that An was extremely nervous, Shi again offered to protect him along his way to Beijing. An was more than happy to accept the offer. But Shi had to go back and inform her mother and teacher before leaving. She asked An to wait for her, no matter how late it would be. |

Now that Shi had left, An was increasingly nervous and scary. Under the
persuasion of the cart driver, An and the old servant left without waiting for Shi.
In the middle of the night, the cart driver was about to kill An and his servant
for their money near a cliff. Suddenly a group of monks appeared, killed the
cart driver and received An and his servant to Neng Ren Temple.
Seeing that An had gone when she returned to the inn, Shi got on her horse and chased after him immediately. On her way she met a servant from the Zhang family, who reported that his mistress and her daughter Jinfeng had been kidnapped by some fierce monks. Shi then offered to save them. Sleepless at night, An was wandering around the temple. Suddenly he found a secret room in which the monks were bullying the women they had kidnapped from villages nearby. An was extremely scared but then discovered by the leader and his gangsters. As soon as they were about to kill An, Shi arrived and was engaged into a fierce struggle with the monks. Finally Shi managed to kill all the monks and saved all the victims. She also became the matchmaker for An and Zhang Jinfeng.
