     Having completed her last movie "Romance of the Forbidden City", You Min married a young businessman Mr F. K. Ko and announced her retirement, which disappointed hundreds of thousands around Southeast Asia. She had three sons and led a simple and quiet life since then.

     In June 1975, You Min was invited to be one of the adjudicators at the Miss Hong Kong Pageant.



Golden Horse Award Organiser

After 14 years of retirement, You Min attended the Golden Horse award
ceremony with organiser Li Hsing and actor Ke Chunhsiung in 1981.

     Seventeen years after her retirement, You Min was invited to the 18th Golden Horse Award ceremony held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in October 1981. She was to present the Best Actor award at the ceremony. Since then she had not participated in any activity related to the film industry in public.

     On 29 December 1996, You Min died of heart failure at the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital at the age of 60.

Golf
As a fan of golf, You Min shared a memorable moment with
Dr Cheng Yu-tong (from right), Frances Yip and Raymond Chow
in a tournament in 1990.
Last show up
You Min's attendance at a mass in memory
of an old friend, Jeannette Lin Cui, in March 1995,
was her last public appearance.
