Factory owner Zhou Sansi was on the brink of bankruptcy. He had no choice
but to lay off some of the staff, yet it was far from enough to repay his debts.
One day, his wife Fang Ling and their son went to the airport to receive an old classmate Wang Zheng. Fang spoke to Wang about her husband's financial problems, and Wang promised to help. Before Wang set off for Japan on a liner, he gave Zhou a cheque of 1.6 million dollars. It was soon lost and recovered by Peter and Susan Yang. They were leaders of a smuggling gang and very much impressed. Zhou left the liner earlier for the factory. His son was brought to another cabin by Peter. When Fang found her son, it was too late to return to the pier. Thinking that his wife had eloped with Wang, Zhou tried to jump off from a cliff but was saved by Susan. |

Susan kidnapped Zhou and put him in custody, hoping to use his body as her
husband's so that Peter could sneak back into Hong Kong. One day, Zhou saved
a girl, called Xu Ping, who was attempting suicide. She was laid off from Zhou's
factory and was unable to earn a living since then. Zhou borrowed some money
from Susan and gave it to Xu. They exchanged addresses and parted.
As soon as Fang and her son arrived in Japan, they returned to Hong Kong by plane. Later Wang also returned from Japan and helped her revive the business. Xu was re-employed. She told Fang Zhou was living with Susan, and Fang was outrageous. Peter returned to Hong Kong and tried to kill Zhou. Zhou managed to escape and hid himself in Xu's house. Later he met Fang and Wang in a restaurant where the couple explained everything and forgave each other. |

One day, Zhou was hosting a party at home. Peter's men came to the party and
tried to kidnap Zhou. Zhou escaped from the window but was caught by the
gangsters waiting outside. Zhou's son followed the gangsters on the top of the
truck. Fang called the police as soon as she found her husband and son missing.
Peter tried to kill Zhou with a pistol, but it had already been replaced by Zhou's son with a toy. The police then arrived and arrested all the gangsters.
