One day, Li Shide was dismissed from office and the family
was on the brink of a crisis. Li Shide asked his wife and Wang
Ma to keep the bad news a secret but Li Yunfen had overheard
their conversation. She wanted to quit schooling and find a
job, but was stopped by her mother and Wang Ma. Then she
decided to find a part-time job so that she could earn her
own pocket money.
Referred by a classmate, Li Yunfen became a tutor to a boy called Mao Mao. However, Mao Mao was so naughty that he would not listen to Li Yunfen. He only listened to a young man called Peter Lu, who was a relative of his parents. Lu was in fact a prodigal and had tried to take advantage of Li Yunfen. Having told the truth by the classmate, Li Yunfen managed to stay away from Lu. One day, Lu stole a pearl necklace in the bedroom of Mao Mao's mother and put it in Li Yunfen's pencil case. In the evening he threatened Li Yunfen to return the necklace or he would report to the police. Anxious and not knowing what to do, she returned home and her father finally knew her secret. After a long conversation, Li Shide accompanied his daughter to Mao Mao's house to return the necklace. |

Lu tried to accuse Li Yunfen of stealing the necklace but Mao
Mao pointed out it was Lu who had stolen it instead. Lu was
then arrested.
Knowing that his daughter would like to relieve his burden, Li Shide finally agreed that she would continue with her part-time tutorship. Soon Li Shide found a new job with a friend's assistance and the family lived happily ever after.
