During the Second Sino-Japanese War a Chinese woman Liang Bingxin married
a Korean musician Kim Yong-Sang and had two children. Life had been
joyous and peaceful until Liang returned to her hometown in China to
attend a funeral with her younger daughter. As they returned to Korea
her husband had been arrested and tortured to death by the Japanese
troops. Her eldest son had also disappeared. Grief-stricken and helpless,
Liang married a Chinese businessman Fang Shixun and then moved to Hong Kong.
Ten years had passed. Liang's daughter, then re-named Fang Yin in her stepfather's surname, grew up and became a singer. One day she was introduced to a Korean musician Kim Su-Pyong by the Korean ambassador Pak Cho-Ko and they soon fell in love with each other. |

Knowing that Kim was also an orphan Liang suspected that he might be
her eldest son who had not been heard for more than ten years.
Meanwhile, Fang Shixun's business was suffering from a financial crisis and would like to marry Fang Yin to an American-Chinese Henry Ding in exchange for financial support. In an evening Fang Shixun tried to press Fang Yin to accept Ding's proposal but Fang Yin resisted firmly. She then ran away from home despite the rainstorm. Liang was so worried that she hurried to follow. Fang Yin went to find Kim but he was not at home. Then she spent the night at a friend Lin Na's house. When Lin told Kim later how Fang Yin had protested against her father, Kim was so grateful that he married her in Macau and wanted to start a new life. Anxious to find her daughter, Liang sought assistance from Pak. |

Soon after the marriage Kim found his mother with the help of a
Korean friend Roh Hwa-Mi. When Liang arrived in Macau she was relieved
to know that Kim was not her son and was happy to re-unite with
her daughter.
