A powerful bandit Diao Jinghu had occupied Mount Tiger for years. Even the government could not defeat him. One day, his men tried to rob a village nearby but were driven away by a pretty girl Duan Yanyan. Duan was looking for Zhang Kaiying, the son of the swordsman who killed her parents. Zhang was an integrated swordsman who wandered around to uphold justice. He killed a crippled thief for the government's reward to help a countrywoman paying a ransom to Diao. The crippled thief's lover Sai Xishi pledged to revenge on Zhang. One day, Zhang and Duan checked in at the same inn. Zhang's dagger was stolen at midnight. Duan then went to his house, where she met Zhang's mother. She told Duan why her husband killed Duan's parents - because Duan's father stole a sword and some treasures from Zhang and they both died in a fierce fight. Although Duan was told the truth, she decided to fight a duel with Zhang...
