One day a poet Yin Zhaozong met a rich playboy Yu Baicheng in a pub. Saddened
and drunk, the two soon quarrelled with each other and was about to fight. A
waiter Yu Chuanning came and stopped them. The three men then started sharing
their love stories:
Yin was cheated by his girlfriend in youth and had since been in despair for years. One day he met a teenage girl Ai Yuanhua, who had run away from home. Although they had a big difference in age as if they were father and daughter, Yin and Ai gradually developed into lovers. One day Yin found a love letter in Ai's handbag and asked who it was for. But Ai refused to tell him. Suspicious that Ai had changed her heart, Yin was so sad that he sought comfort in alcohol. He drank so much that he even threatened to kill Ai if she would not tell him whom the letter was for. Shocked and outrageous, Ai ran away and had not been seen since then. |

a letter, which she had asked Ai to keep for her. Until then did Yin realise
that he had wrongly blamed Ai but it was already too late for remedy.
Yu Baicheng had been dating with three girls of different personalities - the tender and quiet Lucy, the rich but spoilt Manli and the passionate Lu Xue. Despite the enormous efforts he had managed to maintain the relationships well. |

As time went by the three girls all talked to Yu Baicheng about marriage. Yu
Baicheng was thus put in a difficult position and scratched his head for a
solution. Later he decided to write them letters and asked them to see him.
The one who came first would become his wife.
Lucy was the first to visit Yu Baicheng. As they were whispering in his house, Manli and Lu Xue arrived angrily together. Yu Baicheng pushed Lucy into his wardrobe and opened the door. As the two girls saw him they beat him hard and scolded him in fury, because Yu Baicheng had mixed up their letters and thus his secrets were unveiled. As Lucy came out from his wardrobe she was heart-broken to discover the truth. The three girls then left in anger and despair, leaving Yu Baicheng alone. Yu Chuanning was a fine art student living alone in an apartment. One day he heard a queer voice singing next door. He found it unbearable and went to complain. As the door opened he saw a beautiful young lady called Bai Yiwen. He fell in love with her at first sight and asked her if she would like to be his model of painting. Bai agreed and the two soon agreed to marry. However, since graduation Yu Chuanning had not been able to find a suitable job. He then decided to accept an offer as a waiter in a hotel but would not tell Bai. Bai, originally a singing teacher, also went to wash dishes in the hotel's kitchen but decided to keep it a secret. Soon their secrets were unveiled but this did not prevent them from getting married and leading a happy life together.
